Aglaonema 'Wishes' or Lucky Red Chinese Evergreen is a stunning cultivar with an interesting background in Asian superstition. Used for centuries as an indoor foliage accent, Aglaonema are returning to the spotlight as elegant new Thai hybrids are emerging. Luck Plants require very little care to maintain their vibrant beauty, which is thought to be the reason why they are known to bring good fortune and financial success in Chinese culture.
As Wishes or aka Lucky Red Chinese Evergreen produces new leaves, they unfurl soft pink in color and darken to a true red in high light conditions. They will however, thrive in lower light conditions and maintain leaves that are a lighter blush pink color. Variability in leaf color for this species is one of their most attractive traits.
